One of Atlixco’s most iconic sites is the Municipal Palace, known as Villa de Carreón, which was inaugurated in February 1908 after centuries of construction. Inside, you can find murals by Juan Manuel Martínez Caltenco, which tell the history of Atlixco. You can also enjoy local cuisine at the Atlixco food market.
A recommended activity in Atlixco is to visit the former convent of Carmen, one of the oldest buildings in Atlixco. Once inhabited by the Discalced Carmelites, this space now houses two museums: the Museum of the Cultures of the Valley and the Museum of Santa Clara.
